It’s so hard to describe this magnificent movie One For The River: The Vjosa Story from Leeway Collective in few sentences. But it’s the movie that definitely goes under category “Totally must see”. Inspiring. Encouraging. Masterpiece of unique beauty. While watching it, hundreds of thoughts are running in your head. At the same time you are experiencing tens of emotions – joy, amazement, curiosity, anger, disappointment, courage, jealousy that these guys had such a wonderful journey. And of course gratitude that they are sharing it with us. Their mission is to catch a brown trout that could save Vjosa from all these dams.
The Vjosa Story these four guys are telling us is just incredible. Vjosa is the last big free floating river in the Europe. The last of the kind… Vjosa is a majestic river. With wild sacred water flow. Birds above it. And salmons travelling in it. With almost vertical canyon walls. Valleys with breath taking views. Cold clear water sometimes running fast as wind. And sometimes it’s flow is easy and calm. Yes, Vjosa has its character. Like human. As a voice in the movie says – You can easily compare human and a river – they both are full of surprises. And its so true. Rivers must flow free. So do we.
